To incorporate my love of fashion and cats, I thought I would feature one of my favorite photos from a shoot in Harper’s Bazaar featuring Karl Lagerfeld and his fashionable cat companion, Choupette. Who else could look so chic in cat ears? Happy Halloween!
Today’s post is a little more personal than most of my posts. After forging out on my own by creating my own interior design business, I have never been happier. I have a variety of great clients in the metro NYC area. However, being from Indianapolis, I have friends and acquaintances all over the country. In addition to my interior design business in New York, I have decided to offer a virtual interior design business as well. The idea is to provide the same services as my design business here in the city, but without being physically present. After an initial interview, photos and measurements, I hope to be able to offer this service to anyone needing affordable design. This service will include floor plans and furniture arrangement, sourcing of furniture and accessories, color palate selection and assistance in purchasing all of the selected pieces at designer pricing. I am very excited about this new facet of my business! Thank you again for reading and your support!
With Halloween quickly approaching, I am getting ready for the trick-or-treaters! I have my costume, the candy, a few door decorations (we have to go minimal here in NYC since we have no space!), and last but not least, a costume for little Coco. Being a cat, she clearly was not thrilled with the idea of a costume, but she looks so cute! I decided on a princess costume as that seemed most fitting for the little diva. For a little fun inspiration, here are some of my favorite shots of pets in costume. What is your pet going to be this year?

Happy Monday of Halloween week!
This weekend between running to and from appointments, I was perusing Houzz for new decor inspiration. Now it is official, I am in such a blue mood! There are such beautiful applications for a deep jewel tone blue. Check out a few of my favorites…
The antiqued mirror looks so beautiful against these delicious velvet dining chairs!
A deep jewel tone sofa is the perfect piece to anchor this room.
I love the serene feeling this bedroom with the dusty gray/blue and cream combination.
Mid century at its best.
Great use of patterns!
Fun color combination and use of accessories.
This room is the epitome of elegance.

As of late, I am very drawn to pieces and designs with color. And what better way to segue into a colorful, happy interior than a bright, beautiful door? The front door is the beginning to any design and can help to set the mood for what you will find on the interior. Here are some alluring doors that are sure to incite design envy.
Have a wonderful Friday!
Lately, I have been drawn magnetically to dark and sultry walls. Using dark colors creates such a sophisticated statement. However, for years, people have been told not to use dark colors on the walls as it will make the space seem smaller. With careful planning, using dark walls will not close up the space; you must simply use the color in the correct way. This includes planning the correct lighting, flooring and furniture. So, in honor of upcoming Halloween, I have decided to feature inspiring interiors that incorporate black (yes, black!) walls. I think you might be surprised at the openness and chicness of these interiors!
Thank you for reading! Have a great Monday!
